A five-day coastal Karnataka circuit threading together the temple town of Udupi (the Krishna Mutt and the eight Ashta Mathas), Murudeshwar (the world's second-tallest Shiva statue on the Arabian Sea), and Gokarna's hippie-trail beaches — Om, Half-Moon and Paradise. An eight-day loop through Karnataka's greatest heritage and coffee country — the Hoysala temple towns of Belur and Halebid, the UNESCO ruins of Hampi and the Chalukyan rock-temples of Badami, Pattadakal and Aihole, ending in the misty coffee hills of Chikmagalur.
From the ancient ruins of Hampi to the coffee plantations of Coorg and the regal splendour of Mysore Palace, Karnataka blends heritage, nature, and a stunning coastline into one richly diverse state.
Climb Matanga Hill before dawn and watch the sun rise over thousands of ancient temple ruins.
Walk through misty coffee plantations, learn the bean-to-cup process, and sip fresh brew.
See 97,000 bulbs light up the Indo-Saracenic palace every Sunday and during Dasara.
Hike the coastal trail linking Paradise, Half Moon, and Om beaches through rocky headlands.
October to February
Winters (Oct–Feb) are pleasant at 15–28 °C statewide. Summers (Mar–May) are hot in the plains but comfortable in Coorg. Monsoon (Jun–Sep) transforms the coast and the Western Ghats into lush green paradise.
Hampi is best explored over 2–3 days; rent a bicycle or moped to cover the spread-out ruins.
Mysore Dasara (October) is spectacular but extremely crowded — book hotels months ahead.
Coorg homestays are the best way to experience the region — many offer plantation tours included.
Gokarna's Om Beach and Half Moon Beach require short treks; carry water and sun protection.
The Jog Falls are most impressive during and just after monsoon (Aug–Nov).
