Day 1 of 12

Arrive in Delhi and dive into Mughal history. Visit the red sandstone walls of the Red Fort, walk through Chandni Chowk's spice lanes, then drive south to the soaring Qutub Minar.

Drive south on the Yamuna Expressway to Mathura, the birthplace of Krishna. Visit Janmabhoomi temple before continuing to Vrindavan for evening aarti at Banke Bihari.

Spend the day in Brij Bhoomi. Morning at Dwarkadhish Mathura, afternoon at the marble Prem Mandir and the mysterious Nidhivan, ending with another visit to Banke Bihari at night.

Drive south to Agra. After lunch and check-in, head out for an unhurried sunset visit to the Taj Mahal — the white marble glowing pink in the late light.

Visit Agra Fort with its superb views back to the Taj across the Yamuna, then drive ~40 km to the abandoned Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri — a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Drive south-east through Bundelkhand country to Jhansi. Easy evening at the hotel after a long day on the road.

Morning at Rani Mahal and the formidable Jhansi Fort, then a short drive to the medieval town of Orchha for its riverside chhatris, Ram Raja Temple and Jehangir Mahal.

A long drive east to Prayagraj — option to take the Bhopal-Prayagraj train for part of the journey if preferred. Easy evening at the hotel.

Boat to the Triveni Sangam at sunrise, then visit Anand Bhavan (the Nehru-Gandhi family home), the giant reclining Hanuman temple and the Akshayavat tree inside the Allahabad Fort.

Drive ~125 km east to Varanasi. Check in by afternoon and walk down to Assi Ghat for a quiet first evening on the river.

A signature Varanasi day. Sunrise boat along the ghats, darshan at the new Kashi Vishwanath corridor, Sarnath in the afternoon, and the spectacular evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh.

Final drive of the trip — north to Ayodhya for darshan at the new Ram Mandir, a quick visit to Hanuman Garhi, and an evening drop at Ayodhya / Lucknow station / airport.
