Day 1 of 6
Pickup at Bagdogra airport / NJP and drive into Sikkim to Pelling (~5 hrs). Evening at the helipad viewpoint for first Kanchenjunga views.
Sunrise from the Kanchenjunga viewpoint. Visit Sangachoeling (Sikkim's second-oldest monastery, 1697) and Pemayangtse, then the sacred Khecheopalri lake.
Drive east to Ravangla. Afternoon at the Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal) with its 130-ft Buddha statue, and the Ralang Monastery nearby.
Drive north to Gangtok, Sikkim's capital. Afternoon walk on MG Marg (the pedestrianised central street), Rumtek Monastery in the evening.
Full-day excursion to Tsomgo (Changu) Lake at 12,310 ft, then Baba Harbhajan Singh temple at the China border. Return to Gangtok for an evening of momos and Tibetan tea.
Morning drive down the Teesta valley to Bagdogra airport / NJP for departure.
