Day 1 of 7
Arrive in Bhubaneshwar and explore the temple city — Lingaraj (11th-century Shiva temple), Mukteshwar (the gem of Odisha temple architecture), Rajarani and Brahmeshwar. Afternoon at Khandagiri-Udayagiri Jain caves and Kala Bhoomi crafts museum.
Morning drive to Barkul on Chilika Lake — Asia's largest brackish-water lagoon. Afternoon boat ride to Nalabana bird sanctuary and Kalijai temple on its island.
Drive south along the coast to Gopalpur-on-Sea, stopping at Narayani Hill Temple and Tampara Lake en route. Afternoon free for the beach.
Excursion to Chandragiri — a Tibetan settlement with the Jirang Buddhist Monastery and a Tibetan village. Hot Sulphur Spring and Deer Park en route. Back to Gopalpur for the night.
Drive north to Puri. Afternoon at the Jagannath Dham — view the temple from the Raghunandan Library rooftop (non-Hindus not permitted inside). Evening at Puri beach for the rath darshan.
Drive to Konark for the 13th-century Sun Temple (UNESCO) — the colossal stone chariot of Surya. Continue to Raghurajpur — Odisha's heritage Pattachitra painting village. Return to Puri for the night.
Drive back to Bhubaneshwar via Nandankanan Zoo (white tigers, Asiatic lions). Evening drop at Bhubaneshwar airport / railway station.
