Lachen — Gurudongmar Lake Excursion, Drive to Lachung

Pre-dawn drive to Gurudongmar Lake at 17,800 ft — one of the highest lakes in the world, sacred to Sikkimese Buddhists and Sikhs. Return to Lachen for breakfast, then drive south to Lachung in the evening.

Zero Point at the China border

Lachung — Yumthang Valley of Flowers & Zero Point

Drive to Yumthang Valley — the 'Valley of Flowers' which blooms with rhododendrons and primulas in April-May. Continue to Zero Point at 15,300 ft — the last civilian outpost before the China border. Return to Lachung for the night.
