Day 1 of 6

Welcome to Leh at 3,500m. Our representative meets you at the airport and drives you to your hotel. Rest and acclimatize — your body needs this day. Gentle evening stroll to Shanti Stupa or Leh's famous main bazaar. Dinner and briefing at hotel.

After breakfast, conquer Khardung La — the highest civilian motorable pass in the world at 5,359m. Photos at the summit, then descend into surreal Nubra Valley. Visit Diskit Monastery with its 32m Maitreya Buddha, then ride to Hundar sand dunes for a double-humped Bactrian camel ride — a living relic of the Silk Route. Dinner and bonfire at camps.

Today you enter a different cultural world. Drive from Nubra to Turtuk — India's last village before Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan, and a gateway to the Siachen Glacier region. Linguistically, culturally, and historically distinct from Central Ladakh, Turtuk is a Balti village with 16th-century heritage homes, lush apricot orchards, and narrow valleys flanked by steep mountains. Walk through the village, meet the Balti community, visit the royal Yabgo family's palace, and try apricot tea. Return to Nubra for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast, then the spectacular Shyok route to Pangong Tso — a dramatic river-cut gorge drive. Arrive by afternoon at the 134-km saltwater lake that shifts through four to five shades of blue during the day. Spend golden hour by the shore, then dinner and overnight at lakeside camps.

Wake at dawn for a sunrise that turns Pangong gold, then pink, then electric blue. After breakfast, ride back to Leh over Chang La — the world's 2nd highest motorable road at 5,360m. Reach Leh by evening — time for last-minute shopping in the bazaar. Farewell dinner at the hotel.

After breakfast, airport transfer. You leave with apricot preserves from Turtuk, a Khardung La summit certificate, and stories that your friends back home won't believe.
