Day 1 of 8
Arrive in Kolkata and explore the heritage core — Victoria Memorial, St Paul's Cathedral, Howrah Bridge by tram, and an evening on Park Street with kebabs at Peter Cat.
Morning at Kalighat Kali Temple, then College Street's book bazaar (Asia's largest) with coffee at Indian Coffee House. Afternoon at the Indian Museum and Marble Palace.
Early drive to Harwood Point, ferry across to Sagar Island, and on to Gangasagar — where the Ganga finally meets the Bay of Bengal. Visit the Kapil Muni temple and a holy dip in the sangam.
Morning return ferry to mainland, drive to Kolkata. Afternoon Howrah Express train (or drive) to Bhubaneshwar. Easy evening at the hotel.
Full day of Bhubaneshwar's temple city — Lingaraj, Mukteshwar, Rajarani temples. Afternoon at Khandagiri-Udayagiri caves and the Tribal Museum.
Drive to Konark's 13th-century Sun Temple (UNESCO) en route to Puri. Afternoon at Raghurajpur Pattachitra heritage village. Evening at Puri beach.
Morning Jagannath Temple darshan, then day-trip to Chilika Lake at Satapada for a boat to spot the resident Irrawaddy dolphins. Return to Puri for the night.
Drive back to Bhubaneshwar airport / railway station for departure.
