Day 1 of 15
Arrive in Ahmedabad and drive to the Little Rann of Kutch. Evening open-jeep safari to spot Wild Ass, Desert Fox, Blue Bull, Blackbuck and over 200 bird species.
Drive west to Bhuj, the heritage capital of Kutch. Afternoon visit to Aina Mahal (mirror palace), Pragmahal Museum, and Bhartiya Sanskriti Darsan exhibition.
Drive into the Banni grasslands to Hodka, staying in traditional bhungas (mud houses) at Shaam-e-Sarhad resort. Evening of folk music, traditional dinner and bonfire under the stars.
Day exploring the Banni-Pachcham region — Dhordo (Rann Utsav site), Bhirandiyara, Ludiya and Khavda villages. Evening drive to Kalo Dungar (Black Hill) for sunset over the white salt desert.
Drive south to the coastal town of Mandvi. Afternoon visit to the Vijay Vilas Palace (the Lagaan filming location), then sunset on Mandvi beach.
Morning visit to the centuries-old Mandvi shipyard where Kharwa shipwrights still build 1,000-tonne wooden vessels by hand. Afternoon free for beach activities or the 72 Jain Temple complex.
Drive east to Jamnagar — the original pearl city of Gujarat. Afternoon visit to Lakhota Lake and the Bala Hanuman Temple, famous for the world's longest continuous Ram Dhun chant since 1964.
Drive to the holy city of Dwarka — believed to be Krishna's mainland kingdom. Visit Dwarkadhish Temple, then take a boat from Okha to Bet Dwarka island for the original temple. Nageshwar Jyotirlinga visit en route.
Morning drive to Porbandar to visit Kirti Mandir, Gandhiji's birthplace. Continue to Somnath for Somnath Jyotirlinga darshan and the evening Sound & Light show at the temple.
Drive south to the former Portuguese enclave of Diu. Easy afternoon on Nagoa beach with watersports or a Portuguese-era café.
Morning at Diu Fort and St Paul's Church (1610), then museum visit. Afternoon free at Nagoa or Ghoghla beach.
Drive to Sasangir — the only place in the world where the Asiatic lion still roams free. Afternoon at the Gir Interpretation Zone at Devaliya (open-jeep safari).
Pre-dawn open-jeep safari deep into Gir National Park for lions, leopards and 300 bird species. Afternoon drive to Junagadh — visit Uperkot Fort, Mahabat Maqbara — then on to Rajkot.
Drive to Ahmedabad. Afternoon visit to Sabarmati Ashram (Gandhi's home), Akshardham Temple and the UNESCO-listed Adalaj stepwell.
After breakfast, drop at Ahmedabad airport / railway station for your onward journey home, having completed Gujarat's most ambitious circuit.
