Day 1 of 6
Pickup at Bagdogra / NJP and drive into the eastern Dooars to Buxa. Easy evening at the forest lodge with a Forest Department briefing.
Morning jeep safari into Buxa Tiger Reserve, looking for elephants, leopards, gaur and many bird species. Afternoon short trek up to Buxa Fort, where Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was imprisoned.
Drive west to Jaldapara — famed for one-horned rhinos. Stay at the iconic Hollong forest bungalow inside the park if booking permits. Afternoon jeep safari into the park.
Early morning elephant-back safari at Jaldapara (subject to availability — book months ahead). Afternoon drive west to Gorumara and the riverside village of Murti.
Morning jeep safari into Gorumara — wild elephants, gaur (Indian bison), and over 200 bird species. Visit the Chukchuki and Jatraprasad watchtowers for waterhole sightings.
Morning drive to Bagdogra / NJP for departure.
