Day 1 of 11

Arrive in Haridwar / Dehradun and complete yatra registration with biometric verification. Pre-trip briefing in the evening on altitude, packing and pace, followed by an attendance at the Har ki Pauri Ganga Aarti.

Drive up the Mussoorie hills and on to Barkot in the Yamuna valley. Long but scenic drive with stops at Kempty Falls and Mussoorie viewpoints en route.

Early drive to Janki Chatti, then 5-km trek (or pony / palki) up to Yamunotri at 3,290m — the source shrine of the Yamuna. Darshan, dip in Surya Kund hot spring, and return to Barkot by evening.

Drive across to Uttarkashi in the Bhagirathi valley. Easy evening to acclimatise, with an optional visit to the famous Vishwanath Temple of Uttarkashi.

Drive up the Bhagirathi gorge to Gangotri at 3,100m — the source shrine of the Ganga. Darshan, evening aarti, and return to Uttarkashi for the night.

A long drive across the Mandakini watershed to Guptkashi, the base for tomorrow's Kedarnath leg. Stops at Tehri Lake and roadside dhabas for chai and aloo parathas.

Early drive to Sonprayag and on to Gaurikund, where the 16-km trek to Kedarnath begins. Trek up by foot / pony / palki, or take a helicopter from Phata / Sersi (subject to availability and weather). Overnight at Kedarnath.

Trek down to Gaurikund (or fly down from Kedarnath helipad), drive to Sonprayag and on to Joshimath in the Alaknanda valley — base camp for tomorrow's Badrinath leg.

Drive up to Badrinath at 3,300m for darshan at the Vishnu shrine. Continue to Mana — India's last village before the Tibet border — for visits to Saraswati's birthplace and Vyas Gufa.

Long, scenic drive down the Alaknanda — past the Panch Prayag confluences at Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandprayag, Vishnuprayag and Devprayag — and on to Haridwar.

After an early breakfast and one final dip at Har ki Pauri, transfer to Haridwar railway station / Dehradun airport for your onward journey, having completed the Char Dham yatra.
