9 days of carefully crafted experiences
Day 1 of 9
Arrive at Ngurah Rai Airport and transfer to Canggu, Bali's hip surf town where rice paddies meet beach bars. Unlike polished Seminyak, Canggu has a raw, creative energy with world-class surf breaks, co-working spaces, and vibrant street art. Settle into your boutique hotel and catch the sunset at Echo Beach, where surfers ride golden waves as the sky turns crimson.
Head inland to explore Ubud's hidden waterfalls and cultural gems. Start with Tegenungan Waterfall, cascading into an emerald pool surrounded by lush jungle. Continue to the lesser-known Tibumana and Tukad Cepung waterfalls — the latter hidden inside a cave where sunlight streams through a crack in the canyon ceiling creating a magical light show. End with a walk through the iconic Tegallalang Rice Terraces.
Wake at 2 AM for the trek up Mt Batur, an active volcano rising 1,717m above Lake Batur's caldera. Climb in the dark with headlamps and local guides, reaching the summit just as the first rays of sun burst over Mt Agung, Bali's highest peak. Enjoy breakfast cooked in volcanic steam vents while sitting on the rim of an active crater. Afternoon at a natural hot spring beside the lake.
Take a speedboat from Sanur Harbor across the Badung Strait to Nusa Lembongan, a tiny island with turquoise waters and a laid-back vibe that feels like Bali 30 years ago. Explore the island by scooter, swim in the Dream Beach cove, and cross the iconic Yellow Bridge to Nusa Ceningan. Leap off the cliff at the famous Blue Lagoon (if you dare) or simply float in its impossibly blue waters.
Hop to the larger Nusa Penida for a day of jaw-dropping landscapes. Visit the famous Kelingking Beach viewpoint where a dramatic cliff shaped like a T-Rex head plunges into turquoise waters. Swim in the natural infinity pool of Angel's Billabong, photograph Broken Beach's sea arch, and then snorkel at Manta Point where giant oceanic manta rays glide beneath you like underwater birds.
Kayak through Nusa Lembongan's enchanting mangrove forest, paddling under a canopy of green as fish dart beneath your boat. In the afternoon, take a guided snorkeling or scuba dive at the island's famous coral gardens where sea turtles, colorful reef fish, and garden eels create an underwater wonderland. Return to your bungalow for a sunset dinner right on the sand.
Take the speedboat back to Bali and spend the afternoon visiting the island's most spectacular temples. Explore the cliffside Uluwatu Temple as cheeky monkeys patrol the grounds, then stay for the legendary Kecak fire dance performed on the cliff edge against the backdrop of a blazing Indian Ocean sunset. It is one of the most dramatic cultural performances on Earth.
Your final full day in Bali is yours to shape. Book a traditional Balinese massage, take a surfing lesson, shop for handcrafted souvenirs, or simply relax by the pool. In the late afternoon, visit the iconic Tanah Lot temple — perched on a rocky island surrounded by crashing waves, it creates one of the most photographed sunsets in all of Southeast Asia.
Enjoy one final Balinese morning — perhaps a sunrise yoga session or a last walk on the beach. Pick up silver jewelry from Celuk, organic Luwak coffee, or hand-painted batik as mementos of your island adventure. As your plane lifts off over the emerald rice terraces and turquoise coastline, you will already be planning your return to the Island of the Gods.
